This is one of my favourite pieces of JPop music history. To have your peers sing your songs in tribute to the illustrous career you had. It still brings a tear to my eye and it is the first time my entire family ever watched a Japanese music program together with no complaints ... because even my Mum liked Momoe from all the dramas we watched.
I think it's no surprise that she feels sad. Even if she was forced, it's like leaving a family, emotions do get in the way.
I just find it interesting that Judy Ongg, the only non-Japanese there, was in kimono... She is so beautiful...I think she should have been cast in Memoirs of a Geisha..
